According to bible scholars, Nineveh actually remained intact for about 100 years after Jonah’s mission. In Jonah 3:4, the prophecy stated that the city would be destroyed 40 days after its proclamation. This shows us God’s mercy and grace extends to all. The people of Nineveh were so wicked and “didn’t deserve” God’s favour. But He spared them for a long time. Even as we pray for our estate, village, town, country, company, family, let us ask God to give us the grace to look beyond our emotions and seek His mind concerning that place.
