The call to Christians to live exemplary lives is echoed throughout scripture. Jesus summarized the commandments to two: loving God and loving your neighbour. Loving the Lord entails keeping His commandments. Loving your neighbour means we respect those around us and care for them. We should treat them as well as we would want to be treated, harbouring no ill will towards them. It also means doing what is best for them and helping them become what God created them to be. 1 Peter 2:17.
