Silent Stones

The Lamb of God who was slain has a special place in God’s kingdom. His blood was shed to redeem people from every nation and tribe. The redeemed serve God and will reign with Him in eternity. The blood has eternal implications. Revelation 5:9-10.

We were redeemed by the precious blood of Christ, not by perishable things like silver or gold. He was without blemish, undefiled. The plan for the salvation of mankind was set in place before the creation of the world. That was to give us faith and hope in God. That is how valuable that blood is. 1 Peter 1:18-21.

Let us take time to consider the significance of the blood of Christ. His blood and not that of animals was shed for our righteousness. It was shed to cleanse us from sin and to set us free, so that we may serve God. Hebrews 9:11-14.

Naaman had the fear of Jehovah in him. Despite just having been convicted just a few moments before, he had the presence of mind to ask for indulgence as he did his job. He understood that God would be offended if he bowed down to another God. May we be conscious of God and His requirements of us. As we purpose to follow Him, may we find favour in His sight. May we take Him seriously. 2 Kings 5:18.

The impact of the deliverance on Naaman convicted him and he acknowledged Jehovah. May the Lord keep doing amazing things in our midst and may the impact bless us and others and bring glory to His name. 2 Kings 5:15-17.

Sometimes, the solutions the Lord gives sound simplistic, too easy. Washing in the river 7 times put Naaman off. He expected something more difficult. In his anger, he almost missed his deliverance. Has that ever happened to you? I had looked down upon teaching and almost missed out on the many blessings the Lord has brought through it. 2 Kings 5:7-14.

The Lord knows our struggles, our leprosy. He knows what pain and shame we face. At the appropriate time, He provides a solution in ways we may not have imagined. For Naaman, the solution came through a servant who worked for his wife. 2 Kings 5:2-6.

In 2 Kings 5:1 we encounter Naaman who was a distinguished soldier. But he had leprosy. We all have stuff that is hidden from others and that may be troubling us. Sometimes we may be able to keep it hidden, but whenever we are alone and think about it, it bothers us. What’s your leprosy?

To be impactful requires knowledge. The greatest knowledge is probably understanding who we are and whose we are. Knowing our purpose and and understanding the kingdom of God empowers the believer. May we understand this and be used of the Lord to have impact. Matthew 13:1-17.

Jesus did good: healed the sick, raised the dead, fed the hungry, bonded with outcasts, provided solutions, etc. May we have the grace and power to impact those around us and those we encounter. May the Lord find us worthy to carry His glory. Galatians 6:9-10.
