Silent Stones

Times and sesasons belong to God. He has a plan for us, just as He had for His son. May we be privy to some of the things He is doing and intends to do. May our fellowship with Him draw us closer to Him. John 17:1-5.

As Jesus was preparing the disciples for his departure from earth, He said many things. But John 16:33 stands out for me today. All around people are going through difficult times. The second part of that verse is very reassuring. I pray we shall experience the victory He promised the disciples in that verse. Let us not be surprised when we face tribulations. Let us look forward to his victory over our troubles.

The amazing thing about our Lord is that He is not limited by location. He can do all things and is omnipresent. We are best advised to follow His lead and have faith. And as He does His will in our midst, may we acknowledge Him and may we be drawn more to Him. Matthew 14:22-33.

The situations that seem most difficult may be an opportunity for God to reveal His glory. I pray that we will all have such circumstances that cause His glory to be seen for the edification of the body of Christ. May we discern aright and may He be gracious enough to provide solutions. Matthew 14:15-21.

May we be aligned with God so that He works in us and through us at all times. May we also be able to see in the Spirit so that the storms do not distract us. May the Lord empower us to overcome the difficult things that come our way. 2 Kings 6:16-18.

Jesus was with the disciples in the boat when a storm came up on the lake. He was sleeping. The storm did not distress Him. The disciples did the natural thing in their panic, by turning to Him for help. They had probably tried everything they could think of, but without success. Turn to Jesus when things are thick. He can sort you out. Matthew 8:25.

Did the disciples really understand who was with them in the boat. They had seen Him heal and do other miracles. But they clearly had no clue He could calm a raging storm. May the Lord do more amazing things in our lives. May we realize there is nothing too difficult for Him. Matthew 8:23-27.

Let us be wary of those who rebel and go away from God. Their end is destruction. The desire to grow in God’s way, fellowship with God and other believers and studying God’s word help to keep us grounded. The guidance of the Holy Spirit is critical in this. May we be sensitive to Him. Jude 1-13.

The resurrection of Christ brings hope to mankind, hope of eternal life with God. Even as we journey through life here on earth, may our goal be eternity with God. May we then live life here as a preparation of what is to come. 1 Corinthians 15:12-23.

May the good news form the basis of our faith. This has to do with the death and resurrection of Jesus. It is a key component that informs our way of life and determines our destiny as Christians. May we understand it and experience its benefits. 1 Corinthians 15:1-11.
