My mindset after Easter and in the midst of all that the world is going through can be summed up in the words of Job 19:25. It may have been an Easter like no other, but it was still a commemoration of what Christ did on the cross at Calvary. So I have hope, that God is still on the throne and that this too shall pass.

So what is your mindset as you emerge from the Easter weekend? Please take time to reflect and then purpose how you will move forward. As for me and my house, Job 42:1-6 will be one of the scriptures I will meditate on to form my mindset. Be blessed.

The rebellious nature of God’s children as described in Deuteronomy 31:1-29 is the backdrop for God sending the Messiah to die as an atonement for the sins of mankind. Aren’t we fortunate that Christ came and overcame sin and death on our behalf? May we be eternally grateful for this sacrifice and use it as motivation to live for Him. Happy Easter!

The temple of the Lord was built following very particular guidelines, meaning it was very valuable to God and to His people. Yet, in Ezekiel 24:20-21, He says He will destroy it. What impact did this message have on Israel? How angry was God to allow this? May the events of the last couple of months cause us to do some soul searching and may we hear what the Lord is saying and respond accordingly.

As we continue watching and praying during this season, may we purpose to adopt the attitude of Ezekiel in chapter 24:15-27. He underwent excruciating grief but still obeyed God, so that God’s children would learn a lesson. It must have been a difficult time for him, but he chose to obey.

Is the Lord prompting you to do something for those around you? What is your response? In Esther 2:19-23 and 4:12-17, a few people decided to respond to the call to action, key among them being Esther and Mordecai. Take time to hear what God is saying to you and ask Him to help you make the appropriate response to what He tells you.

We are beautifully and wonderfully made in the image of God. We also have intelligence and reasoning capabilities that can only have come from Him, yet there are so many things we cannot figure out. I cannot begin to imagine how life will be if we stay home for another 2 months. Some people are talking about the status quo being maintained for 5 to 6 months! Now, this is a true test of faith. Do we have the faith and patience to trust God and depend on Him to protect us and provide for our needs, to provide a cure for this disease? Or will we get clever and start seeking solutions “by all means necessary”? The word of God is replete with examples of desperate situations where the people had no clue what would happen, yet God made a way. Please allow me to suggest that even as the authorities do their thing, could we pray on and trust God, even when there seems to be no solution in sight? Esther chapter 3-10.

This Corona story and our response to it reminds me of the story or Stephen in Acts 6:8-7:60. He was summoned by the Sanhedrin to defend his faith. Instead of defending himself, he gave a long speech about the relationship between God and Israel to explain the coming of Jesus. I feel events like covid-19 should make us reflect on our relationship with God. There are those Kenyans who are still sneaking out to go and drink oblivious of the fact that God is trying to get our attention to help us reset our course. Yet, there are those who are doing what God wants and are praying, repenting and seeking to know God’s will. Life will go on after covid-19, but will this event have made you get closer to God, or will it just be another occurrence in the history of mankind?

What is it that the Lord needs to deliver us from? Is it covid-19 and the restrictions that come with it, or self righteousness, or spiritual dryness, or a rebellious spirit, or unbelief, or poverty, or stunted growth, or anger & bitterness, or envy, or greed? He is well able. Mark 5:1-20.
