Silent Stones

As we respond to God, may we experience Him on a day to day basis and thus know Him more and more. May we and our children not forget these experiences and may this cause the fear of God to grow in us increasingly so that we don’t take Him for granted Exodus 14:29-31.

As we purpose to walk with God, there will be times when we will be forced to make adjustments in order to accomplish what God wants us to do, just like Exodus 4:19-20 states. Imagine what Moses had to go through as the Lord told him to go back to Egypt, where he had killed a man and fled. But the Lord is merciful for He ensured that all those who had wanted to revenge the death of their loved one were no longer alive to pursue Moses. Don’t fear, trust the Lord.

So, why would God go to all the trouble of guiding Moses despite his doubt and the endless questions? Why the patience despite the anger expressed in Exodus 4:13-17? It is because of His love for His people. He is so loving. Never forget that, even when you feel that you are at your lowest level.

Having made yourself available to God, He will show you what to do for Him. More often than not, your faith will be challenged and only faith and reassurance will help you overcome it. The same thing happened in Exodus 3:11-13, 4:1 & 10-13. The Lord chose you because He knows you are able to accomplish the task, obviously with His help.

When you set purpose to respond to God’s call to partner with Him in service, He will reveal Himself and His purpose to you like He did in Exodus 3:2-8.

Irrespective of the circumstances you may be going through, may you see God and get reassured. May He be gracious and reveal Himself to you so that you do not lose orientation nor feel lost. Others may not see what you see, but may that not distract you Hebrews 11:27.

Our trust in God is key in this journey of faith. He put great passion in Moses from the beginning. This got him into trouble and forced him to flee to Midian. This isolation was a time of training and encountering God, before he was sent back to Egypt to deliver his people. Throughout this experience, he trusted God. Will you trust God to carry out His plan through you? Exodus 2:11 – 3:6.

The Lord delights in working with and through His servants. Once we avail ourselves to Him, He will endeavour to build a relationship with us. A good example is found in Exodus 33:7-34:10 and Numbers 12:4-8. God drew Moses close to Himself and even declared that they were close using such terms as “friend” to refer to Moses. He is very deliberate about having a close relationship with us.

To discover my divine purpose, I have to be willing to become what God wants me to be. I also need to make myself available for God to make me what He wants me to be. Jeremiah 18:1-6.

I have purposed to discover what God is doing so that I can join Him and work with Him, especially after I have sat and waited to hear His voice concerning what to do and I can’t seem to hear what He is saying. John 12:26 may help drive this point home.
