For the tenants in Matthew 21:33-46, the primary focus was their occupation, farming, and securing their lives on that property, hence their refusal to share the produce. They also probably wanted to keep the entire property to themselves. Do we behave in the same way? Are we so consumed by securing our lives that we forget what “the owner” expects of us? I know we are to occupy until He comes, but are we constantly asking ourselves what He would want us to do in the current circumstances? Are His servants sharing His heart, and are we listening to what He is saying through them?
