After calamity was averted because of God’s mercy and Jonah’s intervention, Jonah became so angry, that he wanted to die rather than see Nineveh prosper. God then does an amazing thing with a vine to show Jonah why he shouldn’t be angry, why He shouldn’t desire the city’s destruction and why He was concerned about it.
