Jesus told the parable of the wedding feast as narrated in Matthew 22:1-14. The master’s invitation was ignored thrice. His servants were killed. After Christ’s death, His servants were also killed as they went preaching the good news. Was the parable a warning to the followers of Christ? And to Chriatians today about their persecution? May His grace abound towards us.

We are so uniquely different and our perception of issues varies. Is our definition of love the same as the Lord’s? 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 defines love. May we understand love from His perspective.

What if agape love was the motivation behind our every action, how would our society be? What if it was the basis of all our motives, how would our relationships and lives generally be? Hiw would the home and office environment be? How would our schools be? Would our actions be informed by selfish motives? Would we take advantage of others? Would greed be the driving force in our community? Would we trust God more? 1 Corinthians 13:1-13.

Different people are given different gifts by the Lord, but these are for the glory and honour of His name. May we never forget that. We must constantly go back to Him and ask Him where and how we should apply these gifts. 1 Corinthians 12:1-11.

And as we seek the Lord to get orientation, let us take time to praise Him for He is good and His mercies endure forever. He has also done amazing things. Psalm 105:1-5.

Sometimes life doesn’t seem as structured as I would want it to be. Things seem to be moving out of sync and sometimes I feel a little lost. May we learn to go back to God so that He may direct our steps whenever we feel this way. He will guide us. Micah 4:2.

Let us purpose to know the name of the Lord by always seeking Him. That way, we will build trust. We will face challenges, but the Lord will never forsake us. Psalm 9:10.

Corinth reminds me of Kenya. The Corinthians did not trust much in God’s ability to sort them out. They were active people who wanted to do things their own way. They were very energetic. They were visual and believed in fun, the here and now; watu wakujipanga. Yet God wants to guide us. His idea and our idea of doing things is different. We want to have our way. The Christian faith is a walk of trust. Hence their struggle to even understand the communion issue. May the Lord help us see the folly of our ways.

Holy communion is a practice of gratitude and faith. Gratitude for the sacrifice that Christ made on the cross and faith that He will come again. Our trust in God makes us practise it regularly. 1 Corinthians 11:23-34.

In order to depend on God’s guidance fully, we need to trust in Him fully. Being intelligent human beings, we tend to have our own ideas and we may be set in our ways. But let us trust that God is able. And when we trust Him, we experience peace. Isaiah 26:3.
