One if the most dramatic accounts in the bible is found in 1 Kings 18:16-46. Elijah heard God and was used of Him to do extraordinary things starting with the declaration of drought, then the raising of the boy, both in chapter 17, then the challenge to Ahab and the prophets of Baal and the declaration of rain in chapter 18. Despite hearing from God, Elijah must have had extraordinary courage to do what God told him to do. May we learn to see beyond our fears and expectations especially where they hinder God’s will.
