Silent Stones

We are living in changing times. We may not clearly see what tomorrow holds, but we need to be sure about who holds tomorrow. We need to be clear about who we put our trust in. In Joshua 1:10-18, Joshua and the children of Israel were clear about what to do as they entered the promised land. God and their leaders had prepared them.

Just to reiterate the point made yesterday from 2 Chronicles 15:2 about the consequences of our choices, the rest of the verses in that chapter (verse 3-19) show how Asa and his people purposed to seek God. God granted them rest. So determined were they to live for Him that anyone who did the opposite was put to death. I purpose to live for Him and I will try and convince others to do likewise. May He grant us rest.

Let us not forget that there is also an element of choice in all this. We have the privilege of free will concerning our lives. The words of prophet Azariah to King Asa in 2 Chronicles 15:2 echo this very well. My prayer is to constantly seek God so that I may find Him and He may be with me at all times, no matter what circumstances I may be experiencing.

In Job 5:12-16 & 24, Eliphaz, as he falsely accuses Job of wrongdoing, he mentions some words of encouragement for anyone who may be feeling aggrieved or oppressed. May these words comfort and encourage you.

I don’t know what you are trusting God for, but one thing that I know is that nothing is impossible for Him. The critical thing is to be in His will. Acts 17:24-30 paints the picture of God the creator as one who created the world and by one man produced humanity as we know it today. He made the nations and demarcated their boundaries. There is nothing too difficult for Him.

May we see God (His love, character, power) and His will even in the midst of all we are going through and all that’s happening around us. May our faith in Him be strengthened continuously. May we realise the importance He places on a relationship with us. May we in turn be transformed more and more into what He wants each of us to be. Romans 8:28-32. Shalom.

Concerning Corona, work, business, kids, health, etc, Romans 8:35-39 is very reassuring. None of the challenges should separate us from God’s love. Despite the pressures, be assured or His love.

May the Lord keep us safe for we take refuge in Him. May we not chase after other gods. May we enjoy that which the Lord has assigned us and what He has secured for us and the delightful inheritance He has assured us. May we always give Him prominence and stand firm in Him. May we enjoy rest in Him and be glad. May we get to know the path of life He has set forth for us and be filled with joy in His presence and have eternal pleasures He provides. Amen. Psalms 16.

Acts 2:25-28 quotes parts of Psalm 16 written by David. The theme of that Psalm is the joys and benefits of a life lived in companionship with God. Please take time and read and meditate on that Psalm. Be encouraged and purpose to be God’s companion on this journey of life.

There are some things that remain constant, no matter what happens around us. One such thing is mentioned in Acts 2:25-28. It is the unchanging love of God. We may be uncertain about when schools will reopen, work, etc. But God remains the same. We can be assured of that. I choose to remain hopeful and focused on Him and His unchanging nature.
