May we not lose hope, even when things look bleak. May we understand the season we are in and learn the lessons the Lord wants us to learn. May the Lord still be gracious to us even in our darkest moments and may we see His deliverance. Habakkuk 3:17-19.

Because of his experience with God, David gives on advice on how to live and the benefits of doing so. May our lives bear witness of God’s faithfulness and may we be like epistles that others read and watch, and are then convicted of God’s love and mercy. Psalm 34:8-22.

In Psalm 34:6-7, we see an expression of David’s faith in God. He was confident in God because He had seen God’s faithfulness before. May the Lord deliver us over and over again and may that build our faith in Him.

David must have been quite a character. He had great faith and believed God could do anything. He also rejoiced in the Lord when the Lord came through for Him. He was very expressive and shared his inmost thoughts. God also loved him greatly and used his life to teach us many things. Psalm 34:1-5.

Jehovah is omnipotent. There is nothing that is too difficult for Him. He blesses us according to His mercy. Out of His love for us, He rescues us and secures us. We do not deserve the goodness we enjoy, but because of His love for us, He allows us to. May we continue to have favour with Him. And whenever we need help, may He come through for us. Psalm 37:25-40.

Our character also interferes with what God wants to do in our lives. Being the blessed and smart people we are, we often do our own thing and veer off the path the Lord has made for us. This causes trouble for us and others as well. May the Lord have mercy on us and not leave us to our own devices. Psalm 37:12-24.

What is it that limits our trust in God? Is it anger, or fear, or hurt, or unforgiveness, or envy, or unbelief, or wickedness? Is it sight, what we see, that makes us limit our vision, and consequently the Lord’s move in our lives? Whatever it is, may the Lord have mercy on us and set us free. May our trust in Him be without borders. Psalm 37:1-11

Trusting in the Lord lifts up our spirits. It encourages our hearts. It also pleases Him. We need that positive energy. It rekindles our hope and gives us the strength to soldier on. Psalm 40:1-5.

It may sound cliché to say we ought to trust in the Lord and not in man. But it is better to trust in Jehovah. May we practice this more and more and may the outcomes confirm what Jeremiah 17:5-8 says.

But are there times when we get discouraged? Sure! Are there times when we feel anxious or even afraid? Yes, there are. During those times, may we not forget that we serve a gracious God, one who is able to identify with our frailty. In His presence is the best place to be. Isaiah 41:10.
