The importance of standing firm on the word of God and dwelling in divine purpose is given credence by the words of Psalm 33:4-12, especially verse 4, 6, 11-12. No matter the challenge, may we stand firm and rely on Him.

And in tough situations, it may be difficult to meditate on scriptures like Revelation 2:10. But they help us to put things in perspective. We will go through tough times, but if we depend on God, we will discover that His grace is sufficient.

And as we go through life, trying to pay attention to the many different things we have to deal with, may we rely on the Lord for guidance. Romans 12:12-21 amongst other scriptures have such good wisdom on how to do that. When we feel overwhelmed, may we not forget to call on Him.

Sometimes the difference between success and failure, living in divine purpose and not, is based on what you know. It is therefore important that you know what you live for, strive for, believe, why you do what you do. Hopefully you will allow the Lord to inform what you know, believe, live for. Then you will be sure that Deuteronomy 31:8 and Joshua 1:5, amongst many other scriptures are true concerning you.

If the spies had not done their work, would Joshua and the other tribesmen have gotten feedback on the deliverance the Lord had already given them? Do we accomplish our tasks well? Rahab and her loved ones were later spared due to her following the instructions she got. May we be careful to do our work as parents, siblings, friends, divine helpers, etc as the Lord guides us. That may determine a big outcome for someone. Joshua 2:12-24

So how is it that brethren with a strong relationship with God face such great opposition? It is explained in Joshua 2:8-11. The opposition see the Lord’s work in us and the potential for further greatness and they can’t stand that. May we get revelation and hold unswervingly on our faith.

Moses had prepared Joshua for leadership after his death. Joshua picked up where Moses had left off. The support he got from the people was impressive. This shows the people respected him. May our children and mentees be well prepared too. May we do our best so that they can have the impact expected of them for God’s glory. Joshua 1:16-18.

As we are busy studying, working and providing, are we purposefully preparing our kids and mentees for life without us? Are we training and equipping them? Are we praying for them and with them? Deuteronomy 34:9; Joshua 1:10-11.

Let us also remember to speak a blessing to our children and those the Lord has entrusted us with. We have the responsibility to pray for them. Ask the Lord to secure their destiny in Him. Jacob blessed his children in Genesis 49, especially verse 22-26.

Which professional athletes, business people, career people, religious leaders, mentors do you follow, or think about regularly? How many other people follow them? Are there expectations we have for them? Are they under pressure because of those expectations? Do you take time to pray for them often so that they may have a positive influence on you and others and that they would be blessed and refreshed so they can continue being a blessing? What values do they promote? Are there people who pray for you due to the responsibility you carry? James 5:16.
