Left us praise God, let us worship and adore Him. He is God and He does so much for us. He loves us and is merciful towards us. Psalm 98:1-9.

Many pray and even fast at the beginning of the year for the year that lies before them, and that is ok. Many plan and strategise for the year ahead. Let us jot forget to reflect on our journey of life up to this point. May we also remember to be grateful to God for bringing us this far. May we learn to allow Him to guide our lives, our plans, our strategies, our ambitions. 2 Corinthians 12:9.

Isaiah 60:1-3ff was God’s promise to Israel about what would happen to them after His judgment on them. What was the basis of His promise? Me thinks His love for them and a shared history. Where are you in your walk with God? Have you started it at all? Had you broken it off? That will/ may determine how your 2022 will turn out. I hope you are at a place where God is your firm foundation. If not, please do something. A blessed 2022!

And as we enter the festive season may we not lose sight of our faith and our relationship with God. May the reason for the season, the coming of Christ and His sacrifice for humanity be our focus. May we not forget what the scriptures teach us. 2 Timothy 3:14-15.

I am taking a few days to reflect on 2021 and the past 50 years. I have so much to thank God for. He is truly merciful and gracious. I praise and worship Him for who He is to me and what He has done and continues to do. Psalm 105:1-5.

If we have trusted in God and fully believe we are His children, if we are convinced that He is our God and knows us as well as Psalm 139:1-18 stipulates, then let us approach His throne with confidence and worship Him. It doesn’t matter what we are going through. Worship Him.

Place your trust in God at all times. Long to dwell in His presence. Believe in His love and mercy and His plan for you. Psalm 61:1-8.

I never tire reading the account of Job. He was so sure of his relationship with God that he spoke the words in Job 13:13-19. He was so confident that he was willing to put his life on the line. But he still acknowledged God and praised Him despite the pain and suffering he endured.
Questions for Joseph
Listen to Today’s Devotion You’ll find knotholes and snapshots and “I wonders” in every chapter of the Bible about every person. But nothing stirs so many questions as does the birth of Jesus Christ. Characters appear and disappear before we can ask them anything. I’ve got some questions. I’ve got questions for Joseph. Did you and Jesus arm wrestle? Did he ever let you win? Did you ever look up from your prayers and see Jesus listening? What ever happened to the wise men? What ever happened to you? We don’t know. We don’t know what happened to Joseph. With the exception of a short scene with twelve-year-old Jesus in Jerusalem, he never reappears. The rest of his life is left to speculation, and we are left with our questions. But of all my questions, my first would be about Bethlehem. What was Joseph thinking while Jesus was being born?
