Whether single or married, let us do our best to serve the Lord wherever we are. In our work and in our play, in our relationships and in our service to humanity, may we serve God. 1 Corinthians 7, Psalm 40:6-8.

If God is for us, who can be against us? We are never alone. May we recount the times He has rescued us and rejoice, the times He has granted us health or provided for us. May we have a proper perspective of Jehovah. Psalm 40:1-5.

There are challenges that human beings struggle with, especially on our own. That is where accountability partners come in handy. They can help us navigate such issues of life. The Christian life accords us freedom which if not checked can lead to sin and destruction. The temple of the love goddess Aphrodite was in Corinth, and it employed more than 1,000 temple prostitutes. Sexual purity was a big problem in Corinth. May we learn from their mistakes and may we be open to one another even before we sin to avoid hurting ourselves and others. 1 Corinthians 6:12-20.

The importance of having brethren who hold us accountable is underscored by Paul in 1 Corinthians 6:1-11. He sets such high standards for brethren. If we operated the way he suggests, there would be no lawsuits between believers. These brethren would be our support structure. They would be the church, the school of life, the pool of wisdom, the mentorship circle, the information hub, the investment advisory council, the community think tank, the anti competition authority. May the Lord open our eyes to see the potential in our midst.

May we also purpose to have brethren who can hold us accountable. When we fall, such people would be easier to confess to and would help us in the repentance and restoration process. They would also be our sounding board for ideas. 1 Corinthians 5 and Proverbs 27:17.

May our pursuit of excellence nor the circumstances we are going through unsettle our souls. No matter our lot may we be able to confess, that it is well with our souls. May our lives reflect godliness at all times. May we be so convicted in our faith that godliness oozes from us and positively impacts our surroundings. 1 Corinthians 4.

The average person wants recognition for his or her contribution. It is the natural thing to do. He or she also wants things done their way. These things cause division among us. Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 3 that we simply do the bare minimum. Let us be humble enough to accept that and not focus on our selfish desires. Then unity will thrive.

Godly wisdom and the guidance of the Holy Spirit will help us to stop reasoning like the average person does. May we desire to be a reflection of Jehovah. 1 Corinthians 3:1-4.

We live in the same space, in the same era, but our lives are different. So are our experiences. Godly wisdom will help us navigate our circumstances. May our journey through life be guided by the Spirit of God so that at every turn we may get revelation and godly wisdom and may we have the discipline to abide in God’s guidance. 1 Corinthians 2:6-16.

And may our faith rest on God’s power and not on worldly wisdom. May our simple acts of faith attract the Lord and may He show Himself faithful over and over again. 1 Corinthians 2:1-5.
