Our natural instinct as human beings is to please ourselves. This may not always please God or be in tandem with His will for us. May He re-wire us so that our natural inclination would be to please Him. Psalm 51:10.

Jehovah is loving. I am sure we can all look back at our lives and have reason to thank Him and praise His holy name. He has watched over us and allowed us to wake up yet again. If we allow Him, He guides us. I have not seen any other god like Jehovah. Psalm 16.

So let us give thanks and exalt the Lord for He is good and His mercies endure forever. Whatever we are going through, let us take time to praise His name. He is gracious and compassionate and loving to all He has created. Psalm 145.

Our faith and hope should lead to peace and joy. I know we sometimes get tired of praying and waiting for that which we hope for. If we are in God’s will, let us not give up. Romans 5:1-5.

Our hope in God will cause us to praise Him in whatever circumstances we may find ourselves in. May we not lose hope. May we find the grace to praise Him not only in the storms of life we face, but also during times of peace and abundance. Psalm 31:7-17.

Faithfulness is what made Deborah find favour with the Lord. After 20 years of oppression under the Canaanites, she cried out to God and He gave her victory over the superior army of king Jabin that was led by commander Sierra. May the Lord look upon our attempt to be faithful with mercy and grant us victory in the challenges we face. Judges 4:1-23.

Jehovah is the hallmark of faithfulness. Even when Israel was unfaithful, He remained faithful to His promise to them. May we be inspired by Him even as we purpose to walk in His will. Isaiah 43:14-17.

So moved is the Lord by our faithfulness, that He would keep blessing our offspring long after we are dead. He honoured His promise to David by protecting Judah. 2 Kings 19:34.

The reason for my introspection is partly found in Proverbs 20:6-7. It is the tendency of many people to proclaim how good they are. I’m sure while doing exams, during interviews and while doing a business pitch, we are forced to showcase how good we are. But are we faithful? Do we measure up to the level of faithfulness God expects? If we do, then I suppose the Lord will be pleased with us and will even bless those around us. My prayer is that our lives glorify God consistently and that those around us become beneficiaries.
