We are expectant as the year starts. We are trusting God for something. May we go about our business, even as we wait on God. Let us work, serve, and do life, even as we trust that God’s promises will be fulfilled in our lives. By the time the promise in Isaiah 60:1-9 was made, God’s people had experienced a lot. May God sustain us as we wait.

God directs us based on His great love for us. God may get angry with us, but He relents and blesses us. His anger persists for a moment, but His love endures forever. 2 Samuel 24:18-25

May we encounter victory again and again this year. May our trust in Jehovah yield good results. May part of God’s plan for us include breakthrough in areas where we have desired it, and also in areas where we did not expect it. Psalm 44:1-8.

Are there patterns in your life or your lineage / family history that keep showing up? Drunkenness, broken relationships, unforgiveness, premature death, lack of productivity, laziness, distractions, etc? Pray that the Lord will reveal them to you. May He guide you on how to pray and bring them down. Replace them with godly altars, e.g. unforgiveness with forgiveness, premature death with long life, sickness with health, etc. Judges 6:22-32.

Just like in days gone by, let us trust the Holy Spirit to alert us about false teachers and anyone who would mislead us through false teaching. Through prayer, meditation, godly company, and His power, may we identify errant teaching. 2 Peter 2:1-10.

May we endeavour to lose our lives for the sake of God so that we may live rather than to gain the whole world and forfeit our souls and die. May we not be those that sell their souls in order to gain the world. May the Lord keep showing Himself faithful in our lives. Mark 8:34-38.
