The love brethren have for each other should cause us to build each other up, stand in the gap for one another, be good ambassadors for Christ, be effective in prayer and in what the Lord wants us to do. I pray that this love would actually transform our environment. 1 Corinthians 13:1-13.

Timothy, Apollos, Priscilla and Aquila worked closely with Paul in his ministry and travelled with him sometimes. He trusted them and they trusted him. Due to mutual love, they accomplished much as a team and the gospel spread rapidly. Who is in your team? How effective is your ministry? 1 Corinthians 16:10-19.

Whether it is in Ephesians 4:2 & 32, or Romans 12:9-10, Paul emphasises the importance of loving and caring for each other. His respect for others is admirable. No wonder many people listened to him. That also explains the impact God enabled him to have during his lifetime and even up to this day. May we learn from him.

Paul dealt with some heavy doctrinal and societal issues in his 1st letter to the church at Corinth like divisions & disorder in the church, Christian marriage & freedom, apostleship, public worship, the Lord’s supper, spiritual gifts, the resurrection, etc. He also spoke to them about things that we may consider mundane, like details about his travels. He had a relationship with them. As we parent, train, mentor, may we not forget to be personal with those we interact with to the degree that we feel appropriate. 1 Corinthians 16:5-18.

There are situations we encounter that make us realise, that only the Lord can help us out of them. But deciding to follow Christ above all else is also a personal decision one can make even when not in a pressure cooker situation. John 14:4-6.

Because He cares about us, the Lord will speak to us in different ways. He may warn us when we go against His will because of His love for us. How do you respond when He reaches out to you? Job 33:14-22.

God spoke most things into being in the story of creation. But when it came to man, He made him. He took time because we are special to Him. He had a plan for us right from the beginning. May these two issues guide everything we do: how special we are to Him and the plan He has for us. Gen 1:26, 2:1-22.

In 2 Samuel 9:1-13, David’s help and support was not only based on the fact that he liked Saul or Mephibosheth or on his popularity. It was based on the honour he had for God and the office Saul had held. May our conviction be based on God’s will and guidance.

We are beneficiaries of God’s grace and mercy. I’m sure we can all attest that He has been merciful to us and has helped us in many situations. Even the health we enjoy today is because of His mercy. May we also extend the same to others as He guides us. May He also protect us even as we serve Him. 2 Samuel 9:1-13.

We can learn a lot from Christ’s life on earth. Let us do what we can while we are here. His grace is sufficient for us to do His will. Titus 2:11-14 sums it up very well.
