May the Lord create space for us to thrive wherever He chooses. May we be quick to realise what His plan for us is. May He be merciful to us and grant us victory. Amen. Psalm 110:1-7.

As we go about serving God in 2023 and beyond, may no wicked plan against us prosper. May the peace of God surround us and may we be able to focus on our divine purpose. May nothing rob us of the joy of the Lord. Psalm 94:16-19.

One of the reasons why we have the Word of God is because it is dependable. We can rely on it because of what God says in Matthew 24:35 for example. May we purpose to keep His word in our hearts.

This word of God is powerful. It accomplishes what the Lord intends it to do, Isaiah 55:10-11. So I purpose to meditate more on it from now on. To read it, think about it deeply, speak it, listen to it, sing it, etc. May we all be witnesses of what it accomplishes in your life and in mine.

The beauty of having God’s word as the foundation of all we do is that it also illuminates our path. It shows us where we are and where to walk and where not to venture. May we purpose more than ever before to allow God’s word to guide our every move in 2023 and beyond. Psalm 119:105.

I also desire to hide more of God’s word in my heart. Hopefully that will translate to what I treasure most and will then come forth and influence my thoughts and behaviour more. Deuteronomy 11:18-21; Psalm 119:9-11.

What captivates your heart? Whatever does that determines what you focus on, what you treasure. Proverbs 23:26 is a plea for the heart of man/woman, because where the heart is, the treasure is also. May we surrender our hearts to God. This will then determine our outlook to life, our values and also influence our actions.

I will also try and be more appreciative to God for who He is and what He has done and will continue to do. I pray that I will always remember to thank Him and have an attitude of thanksgiving. Hopefully, I will also grumble less. Nehemiah 12:27-43.

I also desire to spend time in God’s presence. Proverbs 8:17 & 19 outlines some of the benefits of doing so. He reveals Himself to those who seek Him and what He yields is better than gold and silver.

At the dawn of a new year, there are goals we set and things we want to achieve. And that is alright. One of the things I desire is to see more Christians being able to serve with diligence, where God allows us to serve. Matthew 21:12-17.
