How comes the story of the poor widow is right at the end of Mark 12 (vs 41-44) after the religious leaders trying to trap Him? Is it just pure coincidence? Maybe. The point is it is a lesson in faith. The widow gave all she had to live on. How invested are we in what the Lord has called us to do?

May we not be caught up in issues that cause us to run around in circles and deny us the opportunity for freedom and true life in God. Sometimes there is an easier way to that which we seek. Mark 12:19-23, 28, 35-37.

And we sometimes focus on the wrong thing and we fail to see what the Lord is drawing our attention to. The religious leaders spent so much time and effort trying to trap Jesus that they failed to understand the simple message He was sharing. Mark 12:12-17.

What is it that the Lord is trying to point out to you and that you are refusing to attend to? May we have the grace and faith to deal with it and not be like the evil farmers in Mark 12:1-11.

Let us also commune with those God has placed in our lives and be of positive influence to one another as we “fill our clouds”. As they prosper, it shall be to our benefit and vice versa. We need such brethren. That village walks the journey of life with us. 1 John 4:16-21.

And as we “fill our clouds” may we seek God so that we don’t look back on our lives and regret how we have lived. Eternity is much longer than our life on planet earth. So what should I place a premium on? Ecclesiastes 11:7-12:14.

Ecclesiastes 11:3b-6, goes on to challenge us to have faith in God and not to depend on the physical signs we see. But let us go back to verse 3a. What are we allowing to fill our lives? At some point, that which we are allowing into our lives will flow out and will be seen. Will it be love, mercy, grace, wisdom, anger, strife? When the cloud is full, it will produce rain.

Since we serve a mighty God may we learn to seek Him and depend on His counsel. We ought to have faith that He will walk with us if we abide in His will. His promises are ye and amen. Ecclesiastes 11:1-3a.

That our Lord is mighty is something we need to be able to testify about based on who He is and what He has done and will do. His majesty is beyond description. May His greatness not be lost on us. Praise and adore Him. Psalm 47:1-9.

A good way of letting go of the past is by allowing the Lord more room to work in our lives. Paul explains it well in Philippians 3:1-11. May we purpose to allow the Lord to play a bigger role in our lives. And as we do that, may we experience greater joy and peace and may His power operate in us and enable us to become what He wants us to be.
