We have titles, achievements and are recognised for something. It is important to realise that we wouldn’t have these things were it not for God’s mercy and grace. We should learn to lay these down and worship God because they pale in comparison to Him who allowed us to acquire them. Revelation 4:1-11.

Jehu followed God’s instructions, but like many of us, he still fell short at the end. However, God still blessed Him. Brethren, we serve a loving God. May we not give up serving Him and walking in His ways. He avails His grace so that we can be what He wants us to be. 2 Kings 10:28-31.

Jehovah is the Lord of lords and the King of kings. It is prudent to honour Him and to purpose to live for Him. In 2 Kings 9:1-10, Elisha sent a prophet to anoint Jehu as King of Israel. There were also instructions to be followed. Chapter 9-10:28 show how Jehu obeyed God. May we be found faithful in accomplishing God’s purposes.

Our relationship with God also requires of us to share about His love with others. We may be too preoccupied with our own lives that we forget we have a responsibility to point others to the Saviour. A lot that happens in our lives is not only for our benefit. It is a witness to those around us. Acts 3:1-13.

We serve a merciful God, one who is relational and loving. May we invest in this relationship so that we can experience God’s love and other benefits, like David did on Psalm 40:1-5. May pride and ignorance cease to be a hindrance separating us from the love of Jehovah.

Openness with God especially when we sin is important. So is remorse. A repentant sinner is easier to restore. May we be humble enough to accept our faults and seek forgiveness from the Lord and from those we wrong. Psalm 39:7-11.
