As we serve God, may we avoid focusing on the rewards we deserve for our service. That could lead to frustration. In Jeremiah 45:1-5, Baruch, Jeremiah’s scribe had gotten tired of writing about God’s judgement on Israel. He was worn out. May we focus on the privilege of serving God.

Matthew 5:6 sums it all up for us. May we have that desire. We are human and prone to falling due to the flesh. But hungering for righteousness will give us the right focus and it will cause a right reaction.

We should endeavour to find out what the Lord desires in a given situation. We can only do that by seeking Him. That way our knowledge of Him increases and if it is His will, He will reveal Himself and His ways to us. Proverbs 19:21.
