In a competitive environment, an athlete can get lonely. The pressure is great and the expectations are high. Same thing happens in life. But there are genuine supporters who rally us on and we are never alone. There are those who wish us well and pray for us. Then there is God who created us for such a time as this. He wants His glory to be seen. May we be encouraged. Isaiah 41:9-10; Hebrews 12:1-3.

So there is the scout or parent who discovers the potential in a prospective pro athlete, then there is the coach who works with the individual to develop them. Then why don’t all pro sports people who do the right things become elite? 1 Corinthians 3:7-9 gives an explanation. May we remain humble and realise that God plays the determinant role in our lives.

A professional athlete has to treat their body in a certain way to get certain results. So discipline is key in ensuring they exercise, eat and rest thi right way. This will impact their performance. We can draw lessons from this on spiritually. 1 Corinthians 3:1-17

When Ephesians 5:17 becomes a reality in our lives, then things fall into perspective. Our thinking, convictions, lifestyle are impacted. So are our relationships and everything pertaining to our lives. We get His identity and His life becomes evident in ours.

We sometimes pray for something for a long time and we almost despair or probably give up. The Lord is not mean and does not delay in answering to frustrate us. He knows what is best for us. May we seek His will and trust Him. 2 Peter 3:9.
