When the Lord gives us victory, do we appreciate it? Or do we take it for granted and move on? Waking up in this era of covid is reason to rejoice. Our work may be tough, but we are earning an income. The business environment may not be as conducive, but there is work. Let us appreciate God for all He does and who He is. Exodus 17:8-16.

The love of God for mankind is seen through creation, scripture and even in day to day life. We can all testify about it based on our experiences or those of others. When facing perilous times one may not feel loved, but we need to reassure ourselves that God loves us more than we will ever know. Psalm 40:1-5.

Many pray and even fast at the beginning of the year for the year that lies before them, and that is ok. Many plan and strategise for the year ahead. Let us jot forget to reflect on our journey of life up to this point. May we also remember to be grateful to God for bringing us this far. May we learn to allow Him to guide our lives, our plans, our strategies, our ambitions. 2 Corinthians 12:9.

Isaiah 60:1-3ff was God’s promise to Israel about what would happen to them after His judgment on them. What was the basis of His promise? Me thinks His love for them and a shared history. Where are you in your walk with God? Have you started it at all? Had you broken it off? That will/ may determine how your 2022 will turn out. I hope you are at a place where God is your firm foundation. If not, please do something. A blessed 2022!

And as we enter the festive season may we not lose sight of our faith and our relationship with God. May the reason for the season, the coming of Christ and His sacrifice for humanity be our focus. May we not forget what the scriptures teach us. 2 Timothy 3:14-15.
