Silent Stones

Even when we are unhappy with ourselves we should know that God’s love towards us still exists. Nothing can extinguish His love for us. Romans 8:35-39.

I hope Psalm 139:13-16 can encourage us to trust the Lord more. He knows us better than we know ourselves, so let us trust Him more. We ought to accept our place in Him, our appearance, everything about us. We also need to trust that He knows what is best for us. There is what we desire and what He wants for us. Sometimes the two are not the same.

Even as we continue rejoicing in God’s goodness and mercy, I pray that we can give Him room to work in our lives. There is a peace that comes with yielding to Him and allowing Him to have His way. May this be our disposition. Psalm 139:1-12

Just woke up thanking God for His mercy and grace towards me and my family on the 24th anniversary of our marriage. On Dec 6th 1997 Camilla and I trusted God and we committed to love Him and love one another. He has been wonderful to us and we thank Him. Thank you too for standing with us. May this same God surround you with His presence always. And may we all yield to Him more and more. Our prayer as a couple going forward is Psalm 140:23-24.

When someone invites us to their function, there are certain things expected of us. It may be dress code, a gift, some rituals, we may be expected to eat or not to eat, etc. If we honour the host, we will comply. The King of Kings is inviting us to His banquet. Will we comply? He is a gracious host. Matthew 11:27-28.

May we not be among those who refuse God’s invitation. In Isaiah 32:4-8, there is reference to a scoundrel or fool. May that not be our portion. May we be the one referred to as noble.

When we purpose to heed God’s invitation, then we dwell in His presence. When we do so as the body of Christ, our dwelling place becomes His dwelling and His kingdom becomes our kingdom. Isaiah 32:1-8.

Jesus told the parable of the wedding feast as narrated in Matthew 22:1-14. The master’s invitation was ignored thrice. His servants were killed. After Christ’s death, His servants were also killed as they went preaching the good news. Was the parable a warning to the followers of Christ? And to Chriatians today about their persecution? May His grace abound towards us.

We are so uniquely different and our perception of issues varies. Is our definition of love the same as the Lord’s? 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 defines love. May we understand love from His perspective.

What if agape love was the motivation behind our every action, how would our society be? What if it was the basis of all our motives, how would our relationships and lives generally be? Hiw would the home and office environment be? How would our schools be? Would our actions be informed by selfish motives? Would we take advantage of others? Would greed be the driving force in our community? Would we trust God more? 1 Corinthians 13:1-13.
