Silent Stones

John 15:5 states something very profound. If we are willing to discover what God’s will for us is, then we need to pay attention to that verse. Please meditate on it and ask Him to speak to you concerning what it says. Then pray according to what you hear. God bless you.

Another important aspect of doing what God has mandated you to do is found in John 5:36. People will see your work and determine whether you are a servant of God or not. This makes me pray that we would represent God well wherever we work. May we allow ourselves to be guided by Him.

Our task is to look around us and see what God is doing and join Him. That will lead us to do His will. And as we work with Him, we should let Colossians 3:23-24 be our guide.

Jesus did the will of the Father while He was physically on earth according to John 5:17, 19-20. In that portion of scripture, who is at work? How much can the son do by Himself? What does the Son do? Why does the Father show the Son what He is doing?

So how did Israel survive with so many enemies around them? They were a small nation and often faced greater nations, but they frequently overcame them. It was the Lord’s doing. The beauty of being in God’s will is that even when you feel totally helpless, He has your back. The critical thing is being where He wants you to be. He is a merciful God 2 Chronicles 20:10-17

The Israelites were confident that if they stood in God’s presence and called on Him, He would hear them and save them – 2 Chronicles 20:9. We should do the same during difficult times. Are we sure we are in His presence?

In view of how July has been, I sought the Lord for encouragement and He led me to 2 Chronicles 20. Jehoshaphat and God’s children were threatened by their neighbours. This happened after God had driven out the inhabitants of the land He had promised to Israel and they had settled in it and even built a sanctuary for His name – vs 7-8. Are you facing an attack after a season of victory and tranquillity?

Getting accustomed to God’s presence will hopefully help us desire to honour Him more and more and not to take Him for granted. That would then make us agree with the words spoken by the children of Israel in Jeremiah 42:6.
