Some people get to the point of being still after a period of desperation due to challenges they have endured. For others it may be different. My prayer for us is that no matter what we shall quietly be assured of God’s faithfulness and love even as we trust that He will carry is through whatever situation we have had to endure. Hebrews 10:19-23.

How does it feel when mountains shake, break and fall into the sea? When nations fall? It must be very unsettling. Yet the psalmist reassures the children of Israel that the Lord will save them. Being still is predicated on trust in the Almighty God, on faith that He exists and is able to save us, no matter the severity of the circumstances we face. Psalm 46.

There are times when we get to a perceived dead end, when we have done all we could but there seems to be no way out of the challenge we are facing. We may have even prayed tirelessly, but there seems to be no respite. The words of Psalm 46 are very encouraging when one is at such a place. May we be encouraged as we look up to God. May we be still and experience Him in a special way.

And as we and our kin purpose to have a deeper walk with God and to be used of Him for His glory, may we also be beneficiaries of His grace, love and mercy. May our eyes be set on Him always and may we experience His presence and love increasingly. Psalm 37:23-24.

And as we acknowledge the Lord and His majesty may we not tire in being vessels He uses for His glory to point us and others to Himself. May we and our kin not be among those who reject Him and pursue other gods. May His presence in us cause us to stand for all He stands for. Psalm 97:1-12.

Let us not tire of praising the Lord, for He is a mighty God. That the everlasting God would choose me and draw me to Himself is truly an honour. Psalm 96:7-13.

And as we relate with the Lord and purpose to grow in our walk with Him, may His life fill us up and may He be seen in us increasingly. Psalm 96:1-6.

Over and above what we feel and how we reason things out, let us purpose to accord the Lord the praise and adoration only He deserves. The Almighty God, the creator of the universe has invited you and me to walk with Him. Our foremost response should be awe and humility, then the motivation to yield to Him who breathed life into me and gave me so many chances when I deserved none. May we not harden our hearts. Psalm 95:10-11.

A new week has started and we are going into a new month too. What is the Lord saying to you? What does He want you to do? How should your frame of mind be going forward? May we have the privilege of hearing God and being witnesses of His work in our midst. Psalm 95:6-9.

Is any of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. Is any of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray for him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith shall make the sick peeson well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. Amen.
