The Lord is passionate about the plight of the poor, the widow and the orphan as mentioned in Isaiah 1:17 and in other scriptures. This should make us handle those He has placed in our sphere of influence and those we encounter with care. Our ministry begins at home and extends outward.

Our spheres of influence ought to experience the benefits of our walk with God. May we be vessels of honour that the Lord uses to minister to those He has given us authority over. Micah 6:6-8.

The importance of hearing God ensures that what we do is not in vain or for our edification. Psalm 127:1-2 clearly states that. May we always seek to know His will concerning the situations we face and especially in the areas He has allowed us to exercise authority over.

When the Lord allows us to take responsibility over something He gives us authority over it. What is it that you have authority over? Is it the Lord who has put it into your custody? Is His glory manifest in that area? Exodus 40:34-38.

Even as we do our part in trying to grow in our relationship with God and in living for Him, are there people who are not happy for us? If yes, is it on account of our actions toward them? If so, may the Lord forgive us and also convict them to do likewise. May the Lord save us from the wicked also. May the evil they plan against us bear no fruit. May He reveal Himself to them may they hopefully turn to Him. Psalm 6 and 7.

As we endeavour to seek the Lord’s will continuously and meditate on His word, our innermost thoughts and desires will hopefully be centred on Him. We shall then be in a better place to entrust our lives to Him. One of David’s major concerns was his enemies who planned evil against him. What are your concerns? Psalm 7:10-17.

The Lord knows our innermost thoughts and desires. What are yours like? That should make us relieved because we don’t have to put up a show for Him. We can be real with Him. Psalm 7:9.

Our pain may sometimes be caused by others and this may arouse our anger and frustration. We may be tempted to revenge by taking matters into our own hands. Let us not forget that the Lord is able to fight our battles. Our dependence on Him brings peace. Bitterness consumes and we should avoid it. Psalm 7:1-17.

One thing about the Lord is that we can be honest with Him. In Psalm 6:1-10, David opened up his heart to the Lord. He was weary from crying and asked the Lord for mercy. Let us not give up seeking God.

The other thing I purpose to hold onto is hope in God. Difficult times are not easy to bear, but when we are in His will, His grace abounds and hope keeps us looking forward to deliverance, because Jehovah is a loving God. Lamentations 3:16-26.
