So let us purpose to enter into God’s rest and to rest from our own works. Even when we face trials, He will be with us like He was with Daniel, David, Moses, Joshua and Caleb. Then our lives will be a witness to His unfailing love for His children. Hebrews 4:7-11.

Entering into rest is having peace with God while we are still on this side of eternity. There will be eternal rest for those who die in Christ, but there is also rest while we are on earth. It is the assurance that we are walking in God’s will and the resultant peace. Hebrews 4:8-11.

I don’t know what entering into God’s rest means to you, but it is something I yearn for in this life. In Hebrews 4:4-7, there are those who missed it due to disobedience. Yet they still got a chance to enter into it. The same applies to us. What will it be for you? Verse 7 states what the deciding factor is.

A deeper study of God’s word will help us realise or remember that the children of Israel underwent so many challenges that they were willing to give up on the promises of God. Let this word encourage you not to give up. But also search your heart and see if there are adjustments that you need to make. Hebrews 4:1-3.

One of the fundamental things that I would like to propose is a more serious study of God’s word as we endeavour to grow in our relationship with Him. May His word be an anchor for us to help us stay on course. Circumstances may change, but may our focus on Him remain so that we do not walkout of divine purpose. Hebrews 4:12.

The children of Israel kept going back to God after he punished them, then they would forget and move away from Him again. Are we like that? What causes us to turn away from God? Is it the fear of measuring up to what He wants us to be? May we realise that He us the only one who can make us what He wants us to be. Nehemiah 10:30-39.

Our relationship with God must go beyond church attendance and regular devotions. It should affect our relationships, our time and our material possessions. Considering God’s investment in us, this is the little we can do. Nehemiah 10:30-39.

So dear to the Lord were the children of Israel that in Isaiah 43:1-7, He promises to rescue and restore them. He also promises them the Saviour who is to come in the future. He speaks through Isaiah almost 700 years before the birth of Christ. That is the sort of love our Lord has for us.

We are so fortunate to have access to the Lord God almighty, yet some don’t realise it. May His proximity be more real to us than ever before. May we not be blind and deaf towards Him, and repent for the times we have been that way. The great I am desires a relationship with us. Isaiah 42:18-25.

Let us remember to give thanks to the Lord whenever we can for He is gracious and loving. Isaiah 42:10-13.
