No matter what happens, let us stay connected to the vine. That connection ensures we remain alive and we bear fruit. The vine acts like an anchor that prevents us from drifting away. It ensures we remain fed and receive the nutrients we need. It keeps us strong. John 15:5-6.

Remaining connected to the vine determines productivity. If the vine is of good quality, then the produce will be excellent. The soil, moisture content, nutrients determine the quality of the fruit. God is the farmer and Christ the true vine. Ours is to remain connected. John 15:7-8.

Why such love? Why is God so interested in us? Why does He want to dwell in us and fellowship with us? Why does He keep fulfilling His promises to us? We are not our own. He created us for His glory. We are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do His will. And He also convicts others through His work in us. They see what He is doing in our lives and are drawn to Him. We are living epistles. 2 Corinthians 3:2-3.

Over and above His love for us, the Lord has amazing promises for us. They are many. None of them will go unfulfilled. He will help us to stand in Christ in this world. He has anointed us and deposited the Holy Spirit in us to empower us to do His will and to guarantee what is to come. That’s how much He loves us. 2 Corinthians 1:20-22.

This loving God is not our peer. He is beyond comprehension. His power and greatness are unmatched. Elihu describes His majesty in Job 36:22-33. And yet He has chosen to love mankind. He does so much out of His love for us. He created Adam for companionship and the two of them would fellowship regularly. May we make time to commune with Him.

This love of God is undeserved. He loves us so much despite our wickedness or sinful ways, but He still chooses to shower us with His love. Paul puts it very well in 1 Timothy 1:12-17. He persecuted Christians and calls himself the worst of sinners. But the Lord still revealed Himself to him and saved him. None of us is too far away from the love of God. Believe it and receive it.

The love of God is beyond comprehension. Even David struggled to fathom how deep this love is. Saul sent men to watch David’s house in order to kill him. David had the grace to sing praises to God despite his situation. He understood that no matter what he faced, God loved him. He also knew that God could rescue him, because He loved him. Psalm 59:16-17.

Employers, sports coaches, business partners, etc look for various characteristics in those they employ, coach and relate with. Among them are *reliability* and the *ability to learn*. David possessed these two qualities in 1 Samuel 17:16-39. He did everything his father and the king asked him to do. The same can be seen in his early years as king. May we possess these qualities consistently.

The gifts and skill set that God has given us are adequate for providing solutions for us and others as we are glorifying God and creating lasting impact. Many marvel at the story of David and Goliath. David didn’t need an automatic rifle to fell the man who had tormented Israel. He used what he was accustomed to. But even he claimed it wasn’t by any weapon that he would succeed, rather he attacked Goliath in the name of the Lord. The Lord will often use our faith and what He has placed in our hands. 1 Samuel 17:45-50.

Gifts should glorify God, then be of service to others. They will also push one into the limelight. As we serve others with our gifts, God’s glory becomes evident. The blessing to others is of great impact to them and makes us stewards of God’s grace to them. It is not a small matter. 1 Peter 4:10-11.
