Gifts should glorify God, then be of service to others. They will also push one into the limelight. As we serve others with our gifts, God’s glory becomes evident. The blessing to others is of great impact to them and makes us stewards of God’s grace to them. It is not a small matter. 1 Peter 4:10-11.

Are there other people with similar gifts and skill set as you? Yes there are. But the Lord will still use you as He determines. Yours is to follow His lead and allow Him to work through you to accomplish His purposes. He sees beyond what we see. Exodus 7:10-12.

Jehovah asked Moses, what he had in his hand. He had a staff. The Lord used that staff and other means to show Pharaoh signs and wonders that finally convinced him to release the Israelites from slavery. What do you have in your hand? What talents and opportunities has the Lord given you? Are you using them for His glory? Do these help you and others? Exodus 4:1-5; Proverbs 22:29.

God is also a comforter. Loss is a tough thing to deal with. Even if we see it coming, its impact hits hard. Unexpected loss is even harder to deal with. May the words of Psalm 34:17-20 bring comfort to all dealing with loss. Cry out to the Lord for He is the best comforter. He is close to the brokenhearted and those who are crushed in spirit. He can deliver us from all our troubles.

God is a promise keeper too. He honours His word and fulfills His promises. I trust that we shall keep walking with Him and discovering the many promises He has for us. Joshua reminded the leaders of Israel about this character of Jehovah in Joshua 23:14. May we be able to say the same thing concerning our relationship with God.

God is a blesser. It is in His nature to bless. He does this also so that He may be known. He determines how each of us will be blessed for He knows us. May this be evident in our lives and may we always remember to count our blessings and appreciate Him for what He has done, is doing and will do. Psalm 67:1-7.

Jesus was no ordinary man. His coming was foretold way before He set foot on earth. His mission was well defined, but many who lived in Israel at that time missed this. Maybe some didn’t hear about Him. Some who heard did not believe. He came, impacted many and left. His impact is felt until today. Matthew 1:21-23.

Call the person you have been wanting to call, encourage someone, share your expertise, help someone, listen to someone who needs to talk to someone. Give as the Lord leads – time, expertise, a helping hand, etc, not because you have abundance, rather, because He has prompted you. Mark 12:41-44; Proverbs 11:25.

Why is God so gracious to His children? Why would He sacrifice His own Son for mankind? Because that is His nature. And His goodness did not start with Christ’s sacrifice. Let us accept and appreciate it. Let us not take it for granted. That is who He is. Even after Moses had broken the first tablets with the commandments, God still made another set. He is concerned about us and cares about us too. Exodus 34:1-11.

Let us therefore appreciate Christ’s sacrifice because it is meant to redeem us and help us to grow in our relationship with God. It is meant to empower us to serve God and in turn mankind. It guarantees our righteousness, holiness and redemption. 1 Corinthians 1:26-31.
