Walking with the Holy Spirit entails daily surrender. Constantly depending on Him for help and direction. He determines the standards by which we live and empowers us. The desire to live for God continuously will put the desire to sin in check. The Holy Spirit also ministers to us and communicates what God is saying. Galatians 5:24-26.

The one sure way we can live for God is by dependence on Him. There is no other way. We have flesh and it desires one thing that is contrary to what the Spirit of God desires. And we operate in the world with all its challenges. So Galatians 5:16 is the solution to living for God. That life gives us freedom and causes us to live lives that glorify God. May the Lord keep pouring out His Spirit and may we desire to be filled by Him. Romans 5:13-23.

Through His death on the cross and the resurrection, Christ set us free from the burden of the law. We were set free, not to do whatever we want, rather we were empowered to live for Him. That can only happen by faith expressed in love. Galatians 5:1-6.

The Holy Spirit is a deposit or seal for every believer, guaranteeing the genuineness of our faith. He is also our helper on our journey on the earth. We need Him to be able to live a fruitful Christian life. Ephesians 1:13-14.

Nothing that happens to us catches God by surprise. He called us to Himself even before we knew ourselves. Our task is to choose to walk with Him, to accept His invitation to be His close friend. Our second task is to learn what His will for us is. This understanding and hope is the anchor we need to keep us grounded in Him, no matter what happens. Ephesians 1:3-12.

It is recorded in God’s word that He is a restorer. We may experience devastating challenges, but when we cry out to Him, he hears and responds. Let us not give up. Jehovah is merciful and gracious. Psalm 102:17-22.

As we journey through life let us be encouraged by the holy scriptures. The word of God was written to give us hope and teach us countless lessons. May we never tire reading and meditating on it. May our hope not be futile. May the Lord guide us and may we behold the promises shared in His word. Romans 15 verse 4 & 13

Since we are still on this earth, let us preserve when we go through tough seasons. May we not lose hope even in the most difficult circumstances, because He who promised is faithful. Fellowship with other believers will help us realize that others have also experienced difficult times and overcome. Hebrews 10:19-25.

For Romans 8:31-39 to come to pass, I think the Lord desires a turn around, where His children have gone astray. I am always amazed by the lengths to which the Lord went in scripture to woo His people back to Himself. May we heed His call when He reaches out to us for God is merciful and does not give up on us. Whenever He calls us back to Himself, may we not hesitate to repent and turn back to Him. Jeremiah 3:6-25.

So, maybe things have not worked out like you had hoped. Life is tough and you are going through a rough patch. Just consider the words of Paul to the Romans, chapter 8 verse 31-39. The God of all creation did not spare His own Son for your sake. Let’s assume that this story of the death of Jesus for all mankind is true. That Jehovah stopped and thought of you and me, and decided to sacrifice His son, so that we may be saved and have everlasting life. What manner of love is that? How important are we to the King of kings? That’s how much He loves us. So, look to Him and thank Him. Look around you and realise that things could be much worse. Appreciate the “little things” even as you trust Him for more, like His love for you and me. Then trust Him because He truly cares for you.
