Despite our circumstances, let us not forget that we have all we need to live a life that reflects God and we potentially have an awesome inheritance in Him if we do not give up. That realisation alone should go a long way in giving us reassurance and peace. May we never forget that. 2 Peter 1:3-4.

Let us not be discouraged when we have to endure discipline from the Lord. It comes from a place of love. According to Psalm 94:12-14, it is also meant to save us from trouble down the road. May we be quick to learn.

Neither the Pharisees nor the Jewish leaders could figure Jesus out. Yet they were learned and considered wise and knowledgeable. Today, there are still many theories and questions about Jesus. Was He white or black? Was He a prophet? How could God dwell on earth as man? Was He married? People get caught up with all these things and miss the point of who He is and why He came. May we not get caught up in all that. May we see Him as a loving Saviour who came to seek and save the lost, us included. And may our faith in Him keep yielding fruit that lasts even as Helps us to stand and makes us who He wants us to be. John 7:45-53.

Seeking the Lord more, helps us draw closer to Him. When He remains our primary focus we get to be more like Him. Our achievements pale in comparison to Him and being in His presence. They cease to be what we focus on. And as we resemble Him more and more His glory is seen in our lives. Philippians 3:7-9.

Drawing closer to God is something I see older people doing. They probably want to make peace with God before they rest. Could it also be that they know the importance of walking closely with the Saviour? I purpose to walk closely with God. I desire to be directed by Him. James 4:4-8.

The Lord is worthy of praise. He deserves our gratitude. His love for us is unmatched. He has been faithful and will continue being so. May we never stop praising Him. May our hearts swell with worship for Him. May we never forget how fortunate we are to be the apple of His eye. Psalm 100:1-5.

Christ’s death on the cross and His resurrection are a symbol of hope for the Christian. But to those who don’t believe in God, it is foolishness. May this sign of love for mankind inspire hope and encouragement. May it give comfort and reassurance of His love for us. May its reality increase our faith in Him. 1 Corinthians 1:18-21.

As we stay connected to the Lord, as His word brings revelation and is fulfilled in our lives, may He continue to have mercy on us and help us. May we continue to find favour with Him going forward. May our connectedness to Him continue to bring advancement in our lives and hope to the world. In Jesus’s name. Amen. Psalm 18:31-36.

The word of God is dependable. The Lord honours it. It teaches, rebukes, corrects and trains in righteousness. It brings revelation. We learn more about God and life through the word of God. Matthew 24:35 says it will endure forever. It keeps us connected to God. Isaiah 40:8.

Staying attached to the true vine is critical for survival. Letting God’s word remain in us is also key to bearing good quality fruit. This entails constantly reading and meditating on scripture until it shapes our thinking, character and desires. It should determine what we do and how we do it. May we have the desire to do this and may God’s grace abound so that this becomes our lifestyle. John 15:7.
