When the Lord allows us to take responsibility over something He gives us authority over it. What is it that you have authority over? Is it the Lord who has put it into your custody? Is His glory manifest in that area? Exodus 40:34-38.

Even as we do our part in trying to grow in our relationship with God and in living for Him, are there people who are not happy for us? If yes, is it on account of our actions toward them? If so, may the Lord forgive us and also convict them to do likewise. May the Lord save us from the wicked also. May the evil they plan against us bear no fruit. May He reveal Himself to them may they hopefully turn to Him. Psalm 6 and 7.

As we endeavour to seek the Lord’s will continuously and meditate on His word, our innermost thoughts and desires will hopefully be centred on Him. We shall then be in a better place to entrust our lives to Him. One of David’s major concerns was his enemies who planned evil against him. What are your concerns? Psalm 7:10-17.

The Lord knows our innermost thoughts and desires. What are yours like? That should make us relieved because we don’t have to put up a show for Him. We can be real with Him. Psalm 7:9.

Our pain may sometimes be caused by others and this may arouse our anger and frustration. We may be tempted to revenge by taking matters into our own hands. Let us not forget that the Lord is able to fight our battles. Our dependence on Him brings peace. Bitterness consumes and we should avoid it. Psalm 7:1-17.

One thing about the Lord is that we can be honest with Him. In Psalm 6:1-10, David opened up his heart to the Lord. He was weary from crying and asked the Lord for mercy. Let us not give up seeking God.

The other thing I purpose to hold onto is hope in God. Difficult times are not easy to bear, but when we are in His will, His grace abounds and hope keeps us looking forward to deliverance, because Jehovah is a loving God. Lamentations 3:16-26.

Our attitude and general disposition going forward needs to be based on our understanding of God and our relationship with Him. Who is God to me? How do I relate with Him? Am I growing in my walk with Him? Do I hear Him, do I follow where He leads me? Do I live for Him? Ephesians 3:14-20.

To fit into Moses’ shoes and lead the children of Israel, Joshua needed courage. Some of the things God is calling us to do with Him require courage. We can draw courage from knowing that we are in God’s will and that there is nothing too difficult for Him. Joshua 1:1-9.

For changing circumstances a certain amount of resilience, faith, trust and grace is required. Willingness to learn is also key. Some other specialist skills may also be necessary to make the necessary adjustments. Joshua had to have the requisite character and skills to lead God’s children into the promised land. Moses had done his part Joshua 1:1-9.
