Silent Stones

Sometimes we are so besieged by the troubles that surround us, that we don’t know what to do. Just look up & cry out to God. He hears us, even when it doesn’t seem like He does. Psalms 86:1-17.

What do we ask God for? Have we ever analysed our prayer requests? Our God is merciful, but doesn’t always yield to our requests. Ask anyway, but see to it that you don’t only ask for material things. John 16:24.

Two important things I’ve purposed to do more in 2019 & going forward are mentioned in Colossians 3:15. They influence our perspective on issues around & within us in a big way & also determine how we respond to those issues.

Would we be considered part of the remnant of Kenya that refuses to bow the knee to Baal or any other god or idol? May the Lord help us to remain focused on Him & May we purpose not to desert Him. Romans 11:1-10.

In as much as we are eager to discover what the Lord is saying concerning us in 2019, we must be careful about what we are hearing or whom we are listening to Acts 17:21.

22 Feb 2019

We serve a merciful God. Let us seek him to find out what He would like to do in us, with us & through us in 2019. Timothy discovered his gifts & purpose & Paul reminded him to maintain focus so as to be effective in his Christian walk 1 Timothy 1:18-19 & 1 Timothy 4:14.

Some of us wail loudly, when we consider where we were, before we accepted Christ. It was the same for Paul according to 1 Timothy 1:12-17. That shouldn’t put us off & neither does it put God off. It shouldn’t distract us from accepting the Lord & walking with Him. He can truly forgive every sinner if one is sincere.

As we strive to walk in God’s will, let’s be careful not to get distracted by false teachings as Paul warns in 1 Timothy 1:1-7. These hinder growth & mislead people.

Above all, may the goodwill that the Lord bestows be upon us as we live on this earth & experience the different things that we do. Acts 9:20-31 shows how goodwill helped Paul not only escape death severally, he was also able to do what God wanted him to do after his conversion from being a persecutor to one of the greatest ambassadors of the church of Christ.

Goodwill is usually not transferable. Eliab, David’s brother, was already a soldier in the army, but he had nothing to offer when they were faced with a huge challenge in 1 Samuel 17:28-37. David was a boy, yet he found favour with God & Saul. He was upright & enjoyed goodwill. Moreover, he was walking in God’s will.
