Silent Stones

I also desire to hide more of God’s word in my heart. Hopefully that will translate to what I treasure most and will then come forth and influence my thoughts and behaviour more. Deuteronomy 11:18-21; Psalm 119:9-11.

What captivates your heart? Whatever does that determines what you focus on, what you treasure. Proverbs 23:26 is a plea for the heart of man/woman, because where the heart is, the treasure is also. May we surrender our hearts to God. This will then determine our outlook to life, our values and also influence our actions.

I will also try and be more appreciative to God for who He is and what He has done and will continue to do. I pray that I will always remember to thank Him and have an attitude of thanksgiving. Hopefully, I will also grumble less. Nehemiah 12:27-43.

I also desire to spend time in God’s presence. Proverbs 8:17 & 19 outlines some of the benefits of doing so. He reveals Himself to those who seek Him and what He yields is better than gold and silver.

At the dawn of a new year, there are goals we set and things we want to achieve. And that is alright. One of the things I desire is to see more Christians being able to serve with diligence, where God allows us to serve. Matthew 21:12-17.

As we celebrate the birth of Christ, may the Lord remember us too. May we not be forgotten nor forsaken. May His presence abide with us. May we not grieve Him during this festive season. And may the light of Christ shine upon us as promised in Isaiah 9:1-7.

The coming of Jesus into the world as man is another sign of the Father’s love for us. May this always remind us of this amazing love. This was prophesied way before He came by prophet Isaiah. Matthew 12:15-21.

There are many instances where the love of God for His people is seen in scripture. One I found was in Matthew 12:1-14. May we never doubt His love for us.

In Matthew 21:18-22, Jesus challenged the disciples to grow on faith after he had cursed the fig tree. May we bear evidence of God’s goodness and always have something to thank God for. And may this be an encouragement for us and others.

The action of that poor widow in Mark 12:41-44 can be linked to what vs 33 of the same chapter says. May we be motivated to love God and our neighbour more. That should then influence our behaviour greatly.
