Bible College Scholarships

Since 2013, Silent stones has supported Part-sponsored Seven (7) Pastors at Crossroads Bible Institute at Vipingo, North Coast. This was in response to our growing realization of one of the strategies that works. In order to be effective on the ground, it is important to select motivated pastors who already capturing souls for Jesus Christ in the rural areas. the reason is that, being well known in their communities and understanding the local traditions and challenges, they are able to better connect with the local populace. These pastors frequently do not have the capacity to operate a full fledged church with resources. As we develop the churches, we support the Pastor education to build their capacity and understand administrative systems as well as being better rooted in God’s Word. With effective college training and resources, these pastors are able to spread the gospel more effectively than when short-term or imported missioners come to the area and are able to easily identify similar areas close-by where a church can be planted. We have therefore previously sponsored pastor training at Crossroads Bible Institute at Vipingo, North Coast but now seek to widen the base of Bible colleges so as to create a bigger impact in the whole of rural Kenya. Crossroads Witu Equipment

Crossroads Church Witu is located approximately 150 kilometers north of Malindi. The church was established and is led by Pastor Robert Manley (popularly known as “Evangelist Manley”) Late in August 2014, the Pastor Manley felt that God was leading him to establish a church in Witu after having operated a bible study from his small house for several months. Shortly afterwards, the Crossroads Witu church found a hall that they were able to hire for Kenya Shillings Three Thousand (Kshs 3,000/=) per month. As the church grew, the Pastor realized that they now needed an effective public address system to support the praise and worship during the Sunday services. The need for the public address system was also given impetus by the need to start direct proselytization through outdoor crusades. Silent Stones supported Crossroads Witu to purchase a full public address system, keyboard, guitar, drumset and a mobile electrical generating set at a total cost of Kenya Shillings Two Hundred and Twelve Thousand (Kshs 212,000/=). Upon initial delivery of the mobile electrical generating set, it was found to be faulty and required repairs. Again, Silent Stones stepped in at a cost of Kenya Shillings Fourteen Thousand (Kshs 14,000/=).

Healing of the Nations Church (3)

Late in 2014, the Healing of the Nations Church started building toilet facilities with pit latrine but in the process mistakenly encroached on a neighbors parcel of land. As they had spent a lot of money on the facility and the fact that the facility had impacted negatively on the owners expectations for the land, the church and the owner entered into an agreement for the purchase of the land. In 2015, the owners placed a lot of pressure on the church to finalize payments as they had fallen behind. Silent Stones assisted the church to raise the funds for completion of the sale by placing cash donations of approximately Kenya Shillings One Hundred and Ten Thousand (Kshs 110,000/=) and advancing the church an interest free loan of Kenya Shillings Sixty Thousand (Kshs 60,000/=). The church was able to finalize payments on the property and is now the proud owner of a full quarter (1/4) acre parcel of land housing the church, pastor’s office, toilet facilities and parking for vehicles. Msumarini Temple of Priase Church Borehole Project

This church is located around 50 kilometers north of Malindi on the coast of Kenya at an area known as Msumarini. It is located in a semi-arid area. The pastor of the churches is Pastor Paul Mwele who  has completed a diploma course at Crossroads Bible Institute. the church has extremely low annual collections preventing them from starting outreach programmes and church development projects. This is a rural populace struggling to make ends meet. Traveling north from Malindi past Kanagoni, one will frequently see the local drawing rain water from depressions in the tarmac road. This is their cheapest source of clean water. The alternative is to purchase water from vendors at exorbitant prices. This is the one problem the church would like to solve for the local community. Providing access to water, at the church grounds, will also enable the church to draw people to the church that they may be reached with the Gospel. The pastor would like to drill at least one borehole within the church grounds to avail water at significantly reduced prices to the community, and thereby raise funds for outreach and development projects. The estimated project costs is Kenya Shillings One Million two Hundred Thousand (Kshs 1,350,000/=). We prayerfully request that you consider funding this project.
